Singapore Indoor Stadium

Located in the vicinity of the Kallang Sports Center, the Indoor Stadium is Singapore’s largest and most versatile indoor sports, leisure and entertainment venue. The stadium is expected to be used as the venue for the Basketball and Badminton competition events of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games 2010.

The Singapore Indoor Stadium boasts a flexible, air-conditioned indoor arena that can be arranged to accommodate crowds from 2,500 spectators to around 11,000 spectators. The Stadium has been used for numerous major regional and international sporting events. Entertainment events and concerts by celebrity performers such as the Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera and Linkin Park have also been staged in the venue.

The Singapore Indoor Stadium has played host to the international tennis event, the Heineken Open, and welcomed players such as Marcelo Rios and Leyton Hewitt in 1999 and 2000. In more recent years, the Singapore Indoor Stadium has also hosted the annual Aviva Singapore Open Super Series and is the home ground of Singapore’s professional basketball team, the Singapore Slingers, who also participate in the Australian National Basketball League.

The Singapore Indoor Stadium is around 4km away from the city center and the IOC Family hotels. It is about 20 minutes by shuttle bus away from the Youth Olympic Village. The Singapore Indoor Stadium is well connected by various public bus services and taxis, and is also well served by more than 4,000 car park spaces available near the venue.
